Returns & Refunds

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. Please note that:

  1. Unless we made a mistake with your order, you are responsible to pay for return shipping.
  2. You are responsible for ensuring adequate packaging when shipping items back.

To be eligible for a refund, your item must be in the same condition as when you received it. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return via the instructions below may not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and submit a return request immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions, non-returnable items, and restocking fees
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards. Any return of more than 5 of the same items (generally choral music) is subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your returned item, and let you know if there are any issues. Unless we’ve made a mistake with your order, return shipping fees will be deducted from your overall refund. Any restocking fees (e.g. when returning 5+ of the same items), if applicable, may also be deducted from your overall refund. To expedite requests and for your overall convenience, please note that all returns, refunds, and exchanges for this Barenreiter US webshop are handled by Ficks Music, located in Philadelphia, PA. As such, you may receive communication about your request from the Ficks Music team.

If and once your return is approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
